Adventures at Gaming Hoopla

Attach20074_20170408_182202We recently traveled to Gurnee, IL to attend Gaming Hoopla 2017!  This convention is filled with board game enthusiasts looking to have a good time and support a great cause!   The Gaming Hoopla is an annual gaming convention that is a fund-raiser for cancer related charities. This year the Gaming Hoopla partnered with the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.  A portion of registration fees went to the foundation.  Getting to play great games and it goes to a great cause, sign us up (which is exactly what we did!)

There were some fun activities at the convention, including a selection of games to rent from the game library, a silent auction to win different games, and even a number of raffle prizes, to name a few.  We got to play a variety of games that we are potentially featuring in upcoming months!  We even got to demo some games that will be published in the next year.  One in particular, Junk in My Trunk, looks to be a real fun one! There really are some terrific games that have come out over the last few years and will be coming out in the near future.  It really makes our job difficult in deciding which games to feature!

One of the coolest things we saw at the convention was a 3D version of Catan which looked AMAZING (see picture below)!  The details on the board were fantastic and really brought the game to life!

All and all, we had a great time at the convention and got to meet some really great people!  We are so looking forward to attending BBG Spring Con next month in Dallas, TX.  If you’re going to BBG Spring leave a note for us in the comments and we’d love to meet up with you there!
